Mrs. Julie Muirhead

Hi! My name is Julie Muirhead. I am the middle school and elementary counselor at the Kennebec school. I am also assistant band director. I grew up in Scotland, SD and then went to SDSU and received my bachelor’s degree in music education in 1983. My husband, Scott and I taught in the Harding County school system for 6 years as music teachers. While my husband completed his master’s degree at SDSU, I taught K -12 music in Ramona, SD. We moved back to Buffalo where Scott was principal and band director. We moved to Presho in 1992. I completed my master’s degree in school counseling in 2006 from SDSU and have worked at the Kennebec school site.

We have four children, Ian, Sarah, Emily and Bryson. I enjoy being outside, cooking, gardening, and playing music. We stay busy attending our children’s activities and participating in church and school functions. I assist in the music department so if I’m not in my office, I may be helping out in the music room. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 869-2213 or
